Some Random Thoughts is in Bearwood (which, being on the Number 11 route, could be considered to be in Birmingham).
West Brom Blog is in West Brom and has the distinction of being a political blog that doesn't make me want to vomit over the screen.
The former came via the latter, while the latter came via The People's Republic of Birmingham which, somewhat annoyingly, seems to be more about football than communism. Still, you can't have everything.

I tend to see Bearwood as the No Man's Land between Birmingham and the Black Country.
Thanks for the mention! you're quite correct - one road away from brum can perhaps count me as an honory brummie though!?!
I lived on Abbey Road for couple of years and always thought of it as more Birmingham than Black Country. I think the proximity to the Hagley Road is what does it. Sort of sucks you into the city centre. The place never felt part of Sandwell.
Don't rub it in, Pete. I'm sure the place feels sorry enough for itself already.
Nah, Bearwood's alright. When I was there (late 90s) we called in the Moseley for people who don't want to live in Moseley, and from what I hear there's something of a cultural renaissance going on there these days.
I like to think of Bearwood as the secret Boho enclave of the West Mids.
I'm planning a post on my site on the top 10 reasons why bearwood is the new moseley, trouble is i've reached 7 and got stuck. It'll be finished soon...
